Response to Intervention (RTI) is a framework for providing supports to students in the educational setting. Based on the results of academic screenings, students in need of support are identified and provided with research-based interventions in addition to classroom instruction.

Progress monitoring involves administering regular assessments called “probes” or "curriculum based measurement (CBMs)" to assist with educational decision-making including determining intervention effectiveness. Based on the students’ determined rate of growth, educators may choose to modify either the intensity of support or the type of intervention received.

All materials on this page are free to download, print, store, and use for educational purposes so long as they are not modified in any way. Each academic area will have one or more guides to explain how to administer the probe, how to score it, and how to interpret scores.

Please read the specific guide and ensure familiarity prior to administering the probe. Please follow established, research-based expected growth rates which are included in the guides.
